About Condolences and Casseroles
When someone dies, the cards arrive and the casseroles fill the counter. Those gestures mean something. Someone stood in their kitchen and thought of you.
Then the cards go in a drawer and the dishes get washed and returned. Everyone else goes back to their lives while you're still standing in yours. Condolences and Casseroles is for that stretch of time, with conversations about the guilt, the relief, the fights you didn't see coming, and the grief that hits months later.
Each episode is an interview with someone who has lost a person close to them. Expect dark humor and hard honesty. Some episodes will make you laugh, and some will wreck you a little. Guests tell their stories as they are, with or without a tidy ending.

Katie Radel grew up in a funeral home, where she learned to sit with death, and with the people trying to talk around it, before she learned much else. She has spent her career since in PR, finding the right words for clients in the moments that mattered most.
Condolences and Casseroles is where those two lives meet. Katie hosts with warmth and sharp humor, and gives guests permission to say what the card didn't. She is the founder of Ripple Consulting Group.
